The Museum of Art and Origins

MoAAO is dedicated to the preservation and exposition of art in relation to its
origins. MoA
AO addresses the question what generates art? and endeavors to
exhibit art in dialogue with its origin: culture-historical, environmental, ideological,
medium/process. M
OAAO exhibits trans world, trans era, native and contemporary
art that is both innovative and rooted in the concerns that gave birth to 'first arts' of
mankind.

M
OAAO/Mamfe Museum, Ghana/Museu de Arte e Origins is a non-profit (NGO)
cultural and educational center dedicated to making art awareness  an
entertainment of lasting value.

MoAAO endeavors to attract all age, ethnic
and learner groups. Its programs are
designed to appeal to the curious or
motivated layman.

MoA
AO is the only museum where students
and scholars can personally examine works
of art with simultaneous access to the
pertinent literature in our Fraser-Wingert
Memorial Library.

MoA
AO occupies two and one half stories of
the NYC landmark Town House designed by
Henri Fourchet in 1898 at 430 West 162
Street in the Morris Jumel Historic District of
"Sugar Hill." It is opposite another museum,
the Morris-Jumel Mansion, New York's
oldest extant residential structure (1765),
former headquarters of General George
Washington, a major New York tourist destination. Our Mamfe Museum is the first
traditional sculpture park in Africa.
